Stop Underestimating Yourself

We all have those moments of reflections when we 'scold' ourselves saying 'I wish I had done that' 'I should have just done it' 'I could've done it.'  The majority of the times if we had went and ahead and did that positive 'something' we would be further along in life than we are now.  We underestimate our abilities and therefore we remain in our comfort zone. Sometimes our comfort zone becomes uncomfortable because it's time to move to the next level.

In all of our lives there has been a strong desire to do something positive that would make things better for ourselves and others but we let complacency, fear and self-doubt become our thought pattern instead of confidence and determination. Often times I reflect on how much further I would be if I had not doubted myself. In 1996 I attended cosmetology school and got my license, but was afraid to work in a salon, because I wasn't confident in my abilities, although I had practice on the school's salon floor and I would do my friends' hair. My first thoughts were negative 'what if I cut someone's hair and they don't like it.  I can't glue their pieces of hair back on.' I also attended real estate classes in which I did finish the class, but I never sat for the State exam. When I was looking for employment, I would see job descriptions where I didn't have the skills they were looking for but I knew I could definitely learn. Then I had to remind myself that I am capable of accomplishing great things and moving mountains.  I reminded myself of when I was attending my old church how I executed a tutoring program.  I wrote the policies,  I put together the lessons and ran the program. We also had an abstinence program and I did research to find materials for that program. I remembered writing the church vision that included everything we wanted to do to submit to a major company asking for a grant.  Then I thought about how when we relocated I drove a 17 foot U-haul truck, filled to capacity from Milwaukee, WI to North Carolina. I reminded myself of when my sister and I went to Milwaukee to surprise my mother for mother's day.  I drove to Georgia from North Carolina and then to Milwaukee, 16 hours on the road, yes I did all of the driving there and back. I had to remind myself that I have more abilities in me than I give myself credit for.

There are a lot of people who have those 'shoulda, woulda, coulda' moments. The reality of it is that you didn't, but you must have a forward thinking mind. Yes, we all could have been further along in life,if we had just stepped out on faith, but everyday is a new day to move forward. Those opportunities just may present themselves again, but we can't sit around waiting, wishing, and wondering. We must keep moving forward. All hope is never lost. Everyday is a new day to take advantage of an opportunity or create one. Stay Positive, Be Encouraged. Your latter will be greater than your former.

Time

Time

Where does the time go?

Into the archives of life, never to return but to reflect upon those past experiences and lessons and use them as tools for building blocks and stepping stones to reach our destiny.

Today IS a great day!

Greetings to my awesome and fabulous readers! I hope you are having a great Tuesday. Today was productive and now I'm so ready for a nap. Finally got my big girl enrolled in her new school, got her classes set up so she is ready to go. I wish my little miss was ready to go somewhere at least half of the day, but I won't complain. I get to experience all of those cute little moments she has like painting her nails, pouring a bunch of hot sauce on her food and best of all getting into the toothpaste and have it going up her arm. I tell you they cannot be left unattended for two seconds. But my favorite moments are when she breaks out in a praise, a praise dance or a church song. Her grandmother said she was going to be a church girl and I think she is well on her way. She loves going to church. Anytime we are in the car and although she can't tell time or understand the duration of time, a long ride in the car means we are going to church. It's those moments that make me glad to be an at home mom.

Well fabulous readers I have taken the bull by the horns and taken a leap of faith to take advantage of a great work at home opportunity.  The name of the company is
Xpress Healthcare™ (It is NOT insurance). I found it on wahm.com which is an excellent website for those searching for work at home jobs/business opportunities. After doing extensive research of the products they had to offer and researching the business itself, I decided to join. I only paid 9.97 for a 14-day trial. I must say they offer amazing plans at very affordable prices. People are going to be able to save a lot of money, and with the Affordable Health Care Act coming into play, a lot of people are going to need help.
Click on the link and check out my website. There's a wealth of information there. Take your time and send me an email if you're interested.
I've done quite a bit today. I think it's time for a nap.
Until next post, Be Blessed, Stay Positive, Be Encouraged!

Well Hello Strangers!

Yeah I know I'm the stranger. I realize from my last post I had literally dropped off the face of the blogosphere. But I'm here and truly blessed. I see many of you continued to visit my page which I'm grateful for. A lot has gone on in the past year and a lot is going on, but I'm smiling and still standing.  I got a chance to go surprise my mommy for mother's day. It was one heck of a drive but an even BIGGER blessing because ALL of my sisters and brothers were there. It was wonderful to see some out of town relatives that I haven't seen in YEARS!

I won't post too much because it is super late/early/wee hours of the morning. But I'm back and will be blogging more often about some good things. Spiritual, funny encouraging, food and then some.

Until next post, Be Blessed, Stay Positive and Be Encouraged!

Been A Long Time....

Greetings to my FABULOUS READERS! I hope that every has been have some good days in the past couple of weeks. I know I haven't been on the blog lately, but I certainly wanted to let you know that I am alive and well.  I have been occupied with my mom and her health status. She is out of the hospital now, THANK GOD! My oldest sister is there for a couple of weeks so she will let me know what's going on. She certainly sounds great, much better than she did while she was in the hospital and I'm praying that she gets better daily. Hoping that I can get her to relocate here so I can take care of her the way she has been taking care of everybody else. She seems to be thinking about making that move, but I will certainly keep praying. I'm going to enjoy every conversation that we have and hopefully I can get the chance to see her soon. It is so important to cherish our parents while we have them here on this earth. None knows when their time will be up. I love my mother to no end. She is truly a wonderful person.

I haven't been on Pinterest alot lately (I know, SHOCKING!) but I have been on it enough, so I've got plenty of ideas for the house and every occasion. Of course I have yet to do any of those things just yet, but with the 'winter' coming up, I'll plenty to keep me occupied.

I FINALLY watched The Family That Preys---oh my goodness! That was an EXCELLENT movie. I mean my jaw dropped several times during this movie. Kathy Bates and Sanaa Lathan--good murcy! Talking about playing their parts! I also watched Steel Magnolias with Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, Alfre Woodard, etc. I really liked it. I never saw the original but I really enjoyed this movie. This weekend we watched Mimic which I also enjoyed. I also watched Mimic 3, which was a little bit boring, just not as much action as the first one. This weekend was pretty relaxing. We went to church with my mother-in-law and oh my, talking about this sista getting her praise, shout and deliverance! My daughter also dedicated her life to Christ, so yes, moma had to get another shout on. I'm truly proud of my big baby. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My husband made a wonderful dinner, as we ate to our heart's content! After that, I was all done.

I'm thankful for you taking time to stop by my blog. I truly appreciate your faithfulness. Until next post, Be Blessed, Be Inspired, Be Grateful!
