Hello All! It's the Weekend!

Good Saturday afternoon to all of my fabulous readers! I hope that everyone is enjoying their Saturday.  It's truly a beautiful day outside here in the Queen City, so I definitely plan to get out and about and enjoy it. It's been a great week, I can't complain. I've been throwing around a few ideas in my head to keep myself busy and make money.  I was thinking about getting into making jewelry, but bottom line it's not as easy as I thought. There's all these different tools and types of wires to use and I just don't have the patience for all that. Then I was thinking about doing an online store seling products that I have always had an interest in for a few years, so I'm trying to look into that and see how I go about it. I know I will hae to actually establish the business as far as a tax id number and registering and all of that so I definitely want to make sure I have all of my legalities in place.

I can't believe it's pretty much the end of January already. I think as soon as February gets here, this year is going to fly! It's like January is the hump and the rest of the year is out of here. I'm looking forward to some new and exciting things this year, so I hope everything works out.

I'm sorry this post is so short, but I have to make some runs.  Until next post, Be Blessed, Be Safe and Smile!

Yes, It's Monday!

HELLO FABULOUS READERS!!! It's give me great pleasure to say that my blog reached 1,000 page views over the weekend and I'm so excited!!! I couldn't have done it without you, and I'm truly excited. I'm hoping that in the next few months I can do some upgrading and post more often during the day. But in the meantime, I'll still be posting, so once again THANK YOU ALL!

Onto the Monday morning/afternoon....the baby is sleeping so I better put my typing skills to the test and get this post done. I was watching Beyonce's video Who Run The World and listening to the words, the video really doesn't match what she's saying. Now ladies we ALL know we are built to build it up and hold it down, but watching this video gives me the impression that in order to run the world or get what we want we have to be damn near naked! I mean you got women 'cat creeping' in lingerie and bouncing all over the screen. Now if I was to remake this video, I would show some women in high positions and even if you're a stay at home mom, it's still a high calling because running the household and taking care of a family takes skills. How about showing some women in a boardroom full of men and SHE is conducting the meeting and she's hold their attention, not because she's standing there in stilettos and and see thru nightgown, but she's got her corporate suit on and is 'running things' or how about showing Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama addressing thousands of people. Show scene with women signing paychecks, running construction sites, running her own company and when she walks in a room people know to get it together. Show moms working in the office and coming home being greeted by a family that loves her and is catering to her; why not show women judges ruling over a case. I'm just saying, we as women are multi-talented but why not show us in a more professional or business light. I'm not saying the women have to be dressed in 10 layers of clothing, but we can be sexy, yet covered up. I think the video should show women using their brains and not give the impression that we have to use our bodies......I'm just saying.....

As a mother of daughters and especially a teen daughter I emphasize to her all the time, although a man have a physical attraction to you, show him your mind! Make him want you for your mind and not just your body. You can always dress up the outside, but baby have something going on inside. He needs to see your personality and your character and your strength and if he's not interested in that, then he can step off. I see young girls and lot of them look at least 20, and they need to understand that if you're letting it all hang out like that do you really think a man is going to say, oooohhhhh look at her butt or her breasts, I bet she real smart..NOT! His thoughts is, oooohhh I wanna hit that! Our young girls needs to understand that all ATTENTION does not carry good INTENTION and they need to watch the things they do, say and how they carry themselves. It's possible to be classy without being trashy. Our young ladies need to know McDonald's is not a dinner date in this day and time. At least go to Applebee's. I also emphasize to her watch these little 'boys' find out what his goals are in life, and if he's really trying to put forth the effort to reach those goals. He needs to have some direction, some plans. If he talking about he want to be an engineer but he wants to drop out of school, you need to give him the side eye and question his motives. There some good guys out there and they want nice girls to want to accomplish positive things in live and believe me, I have prayed and asked God to put one on layaway for my teen daughter so that when the time comes he will be ready for her and she will be ready for him. As far as my baby girl, I'm going to pray the same thing, Lord please put her a good Godly man on layaway.

Now my teen did at one time call herself having a so-called boyfriend and yes, momma nipped that in the butt! Focus on your school work and your education. Your books are your boyfriend! I tell her it's not wrong with you liking a li'l ole boy, just know that momma is not going really like anybody because you my big baby. Maybe when she gets 16 or 17, but I've given her the talk. Tell that li'l boy he ain't getting no 'twinkies' (you know what I'm saying). I've given her the reproduction story broken down to wear she has no excuse. In this day and time, it truly is best to wait until you're married. I'm real old school. I believe in meeting whoever is interested in my daughter, and yes, momma gets license plates, car description, what you're wearing, where you're going, etc. and you must come to the door and pick up my daughter. There will be NO honking the horn in my driveway, thinking she's going to run outside, it don't work like that. You come and introduce yourself, have a seat and yes I will question the hell out of you. I will look you up in the public database for any criminal activity, and believe me, momma already said a prayer. I know I can't hold onto her forever, and yes she will be on her, but I will always be momma and will do my best to protect her the best way I can.

The hubby just brought pizza, so I'm going to grab me something to eat and chill out. I hope you enjoyed my post and feel free to leave me a comment. Let me know what you think. I'm sure that same person has not viewed my blog 1,000 times. So give me some feedback!

Until next post...BE BLESSED, BE SAFE AND SMILE!

Randomness.....

Greeting all, I hope that everyone had a great week and I know that you are glad that it is the weekend!
I just have some random thoughts to post this evening.

To start, for anyone that lives in the Chicagoland area (my hometown-Chi town) please be careful, I heard that it's pretty nasty outside so please be careful and drive safely.  You can get another car, but there's only one you, so please be careful.  I'm so glad I don't have to deal with those massive snow storms of Chicago and Milwaukee. I remember living in Milwaukee working at one of the banks there and the news was reporting a huge snow storm coming and they stayed open, although most people began to leave work early especially if they lived far away. When I lived in Chicago and worked in Niles, IL, I ended up driving in a big snow storm, took forever to get home. I can recall another time when I lived in Milwaukee and went to Chicago, got caught in the snow storm coming home.  It took me four hours and that's no more than a two hour trip. So PLEASE be careful! Here in Carolina, it's been rainy and it's expected to last through the weekend so anybody in the Charlotte area, please be careful. Driving in the rain is just as dangerous as driving in the snow, so slow down and get there in one piece!

I was leaving the nail shop and of course there was an accident up the road and I don't understand why people are so in a rush to get in a traffic jam, especially when they see the ambulance coming. Why block traffic and make it even harder for medical help to get through and like I said, they usually end up behind another car stuck in the traffic jam. All I'm saying is please be considerate of emergency vehicles trying to get to someone in need.

About food...I've been thinking about the foods I almost always cook and I need to change it up. I need to cook something different for a change. I've got a couple of cookbooks and I was just browsing through them and there is some really great looking dishes in there with simple ingredients and not alot of prep or cooking time and it's healthy, so I that's going to be something I do in the new year.

I would like to hear from you, so feel free to comment. Until next post, thank you for your support and have a SAFE weekend!

One Day Closer to Friday!

Good afternoon to my awesome readers! I'm so glad you took the time out of your busy day to read my blog posts.  It is truly appreciated. I started my blog almost two months ago and I think 900+ page views is pretty good for a rookie blogger. So I just want to say THANK YOU!

So, today I decided to blog about something I saw on TV that was quite disturbing (don't worry, I didn't post any gruesome pics). I was watching a talk show, I can't figure out the hosts name, he has a British accent. He had people on his show that did plastic surgery on themselves! Yes, I'm talking about nip/tuck, botox, eye lifts, etc. One lady, filed down her teeth with a nail file, she made braces for her teeth, and she did dermabrasion, whatever that is. There was another lady that was injecting botox at home! I had to change the channel, it just just to creepy to watch. Of course he had a doctor/plastic surgeon on there to explain to them just how dangerous it is to do these types of things at home, although it can be just as dangerous to go to a plastic surgeon as well. Renee, from Mob Wives almost died from having plastic surgery. Kanye West's mom died from complications due to cosmetic surgery and James Brown's wife, Adrienne died on the surgery table. Now if this can happen in a doctor's office what do you think can happen at home!

I'm sure we all have something that we want to change on our outward appearance and I'm not saying you shouldn't look your best, but my goodness all of that cutting, opening up your body parts and the recovery! My goodness! There are some who may need cosmetic surgery due to certain things that have happened in life, but just to go under the knife because you want to look like Barbie is just crazy.  I think Hollywood gives off this false standard of what beauty is. We see all of these beautiful faces with flawless skin and say, I wish I could have flawless skin like that. Well the truth is you can. Maybeline, Mac, Revlon, etc. will definitely help you achieve that look. These celebrities sometimes spend at least an hour getting all made up to look perfect under the lights on the stage and while walking the red carpet. Even on the fashion circuit, most of the runway models look like they wear a size 000. The truth is we don't know what they are putting themselves through to remain 'stick figure' thin. A newsflash to some of these designers, everybody is not a size 000 and alot of that stuff is ugly! Five-thousand dollars worth of pure ugly! Anyway, we have to realize, these people are human, they have to wake up, wash their face, bursh their teeth and bathe just like we do. Have you seen some of these celebrities without their 'face' on?! GOOD LAWD! They need makeup! Truth is, they don't walk around with their stage make up on everyday, all day. Face it, it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve those Hollywood looks. I look at some of those 'housewives' on TV and I'm like dang, please stop it. Some of them are just crazy looking! I don't even knock people that may get a little botox every now and then, but some of these women look like they are in the tanning salon, everyday; getting injections everyday; implants every six months and a new cosmetic procedure every year. I mean, eventually your body is going to say, damn it I quit! Some of their lips look like duck bills. Some even go so far as to go to other countries to get these procedures done because the doctors in the US advised them it was too risky.

I said all of that, to say this, don't define your beauty by someone else's standards. Some of those people may be beautiful with or without make up, but some of them have some of the nastiest attitudes you would ever want to encounter. I'm not saying that you shouldn't eat right, exercise, or take good care of your health and bodies. After all, we only get one body (although some do get additional body parts or rearrange the ones they have) and one life, so we should definitely do our best to take care of ourselves, but I know there is something beautiful about all of us, inside and out. What's the purpose of going through life looking beautiful on the outside but have no inward beauty, it's fruitless. Word to the wise, beauty fades, but your personality, the way you treat people and the things you do is what counts.

I hope that everyone is having a good week and until next post....BE SAFE, BE BLESSED, AND SMILE!

Taking Advantage of this time....

While my munchkin is sleeping....:  ) I'm so happy! I got a chance to bath the baby, put her down for a nap and DO MY HAIR with NO interruptions. She must have been real tired. I got a chance to cut and relax my hair and she's still sleeping--100 points for MOM!

I knew I forgot to post something to the blog on yesterday...Lord help my mind! I got a sample of NESCAFE Taster's Choice instant coffee in the mail last week and wanted to let you guys know what I think. I'm not an avid coffee drinker at all. I don't even have a coffee maker. I'm more of a hot chocolate/capuccino kind of gal, but I did try it and it tastes pretty good. I got 6 'mini-packs' that will make a six ounce cup of coffee. The flavors in the pack was French Roast, 100% Colombian, Peppermint Mocha, Decaf House Blend, and Hazelnut. I'm interested to see how the Peppermint Mocha tastes, but the others were pretty good.

I'm still expecting some other free samples in the mail, hopefully they will come before the year is over. But anyway, I'm sure you all have seen the Huggies 'slip-on diapers and I was just thinking, what's the difference between a 'slip-on' diaper and a 'pull-up'?

Another Question...I'm sure some of you have watched the 'Real Housewives' reality shows, but I'm thinking, how many are really housewives? I think on baseball wives, one of the ladies was NEVER a wife! She was an ex-girlfriend! I want to see some REAL everyday moms and wives. I think we need a reality show called The balancing home, work, kids, taking care of the house, paying bills, balancing checkbooks, taking the kids to soccer, band, baseball, basketball, football, softball, cheerleading practice that don't have a Hermes Bag or a pair of Loubertins (if that's how you spell it) who host playdates, volunteer at charities and school events, and  have simple children birthday parties and the big surprise is a nice cake with their favorite cartoon character and not a blinged out Mercedes or Range Rover, getting peed on, pooped on, thrown up on, and lives in a modest home and are everyday, down to earth, fun-loving people.  Yeah, I think that would be a good show. Now I'm not knocking anybody. If you are blessed to work hard or get married to a well off person, then that's fine. I'm just saying, let's see some normal everyday moms. Some of these women look overtanned, over injected, over implanted and underweight. But hey, whatever floats your boat. I'm sure they have their problems too, and some of their stories I can relate to afterall, some of the most richest people are miserable, but I still like to watch. It's my guilty pleasure-I mostly like Real Housewives of Atlanta and Mob Wives, and Love n Hop Hop.

Well that's just my opinion. My little munchkin is up and so you what I gotta do. For the life of me I can't understand how an 11 month old can wreak havoc on a room! Gotta love her.

Four Day Weekend Has Ended!

Well I know for some of you the four-day weekend has ended.  As for me, I'm glad because my daughter goes back to school tomorrow-Yaaayyy meee!! d a good weekend of watching my TV shows: Mob Wives and Real Housewives of Atlanta. I was trying to watch Kevin Harts stand-up, but kept switching back and forth.  Needless to say he is beyond crazy! I said you have to be born that crazy-there is no Comedy 101 class to even begin to teach that kind of comedy. I think the Golden Globes was on this weekend, but I had no interest in watching it. Tonight's show will be Love n Hip Hop.

It's been a couple of days since I've posted. I hate using this molasses slow computer, but I definitely want to keep everyone interested, so usually I'm between my phone and the computer.

My little munchkin is really enjoying walking to the point where she tries to take off running. It's so strange seeing her walking around the house.  I miss my little 6 pound 5 ounce munchkin, but she's growing up.

Well onto other news I hope that everyone enjoyed my list of favorite songs. I wish I could have uploaded more, but I will definitely be doing it again real soon.

It's the Middle of the Week!

Hello FABULOUS readers! It's the middle of the week, half of January will be gone before we know it and it's a rainy day in the Queen City.  This is definitely the perfect relaxing weather. I'm trying to get a few things done while munchkin is sleeping, so I better work fast because I'm fixing something to eat as well.

To start I got a chance to watch the Season Premier of The Game last night, and it was okay. I just feel like it's lost it's flavor, which is the reason why it was such a big hit in the first place.  Hopefully it gets better. I'm sure Melanie and Derwin's store will have a million twists and turns as the episodes progress. I'm looking forward to watch Dog The Bounty Hunter tonight though, so I'll be tweeting and watching.

I got my Hello Kitty watches I ordered from FocalPrice.com. I only paid $5.48. Got one in pink and white. They are really nice watches. I gave my daughter the white one, which more than likely she'll end up with both of them. It's just something about moma's thing.  I'm going to try to upload pics. I haven't gotten any more samples yet, I know it usually takes about 6 weeks, but when I get something in, I'll definitely post about and let you know what I think.

I did get a chance to do my grocery shopping yesterday. I didn't get a chance to clip all the coupons I wanted but I still saved over $35 dollars from using my food savings card, so I am not complaining. The cabinets and fridge is full and that's all that matters.

I wanted to ask your opinion on the movie The Devil Inside. It's a movie about demon possession and I don't think I would want to watch that movie in all the sunlight in Carolina. Anybody plan to seeing it or any other movies that's out. I still want to see the movie Columbiana, I was told it was a good movie. I think they need to come out with a Salt II, because Angelina Jolie really did an awesome job in Salt, so we definitely need a part two.

That's all the news I have so far. Please check out the sites on my sidebar along with http://www.armywife101.com/; penny-pinching-pollly.blogspot.com, GiGis Petals on Facebook and Sparkling Creations by Melinda.

As always, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to view my postings. Thank you kindly for your support. Until next post-BE BLESSED AND BE SAFE!! folow me on @afambuswmn

Good Evening! This Evening's Blog Post

Greetings to my fabulous readers! I just want to start off saying I truly appreciate everyone who is stopping by and taking time to read my blog. It is greatly appreciated.  Hopefully I can keep you interested. I have to multitask between my phone and this molasses slow computer until my other one gets fixed. I can't wait to get my first payout!

BABY NEWS...my little munchkin is taking her first steps! It's a bittersweet moment because it seems like time flew by so fast, but I am truly blessed to have been at home with her to witness all of her milestones; first smile; first words, which it seems like dada is a universal word for just about everything; and now I'm seeing her first steps. It's truly a blessing and now I feel even better about going to work, eventually. : ) Now if I can get my almost 15 year old to stop acting like a baby  : / yeah, right!

Onto other news... you guys have got to visit Sparkling Creations by Melinda on Facebook.  She just posted some more jewelry items for sale and they are too beautiful! She is really talented. The prices are reasonable and you can have nice jewelry for all occasions.

I want to give a special thank you to Krystel at www.armywife101.com for being my first follower! I am truly grateful and appreciate your support!

That's all the news I have for now. I guess I will catch the re-broadcast of Love and Hip Hop, especially since the munchkin is sleeping (big smiles). Until next post BE BLESSED AND BE SAFE!!

Hello my FABULOUS readers! I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. My Saturday has been extremely busy, but I am proud of myself because I got all the laundry done AND folded! Usually when I do laundry the last load just doesn't make it out the dryer. I had a full day, babysitting, cleaning and laundry and now I'm going to wind down. I realized my last post was Thursday and I try to post every couple of days to keep my blog updated. I want you guys to keep coming back.

Yep, it's almost like doing a research paper. Afterall, those savings will really add up.

Videos you may like.....so my daughter was surfing YouTube and she came across this one video of this guy Todrick Hall and oh my goodness this guy is TALENTED! I watched the Flash Mob in a Target Store they did a dance to a Beyonce song and they were awesome. Check his video out and the one he did for Domino's and McDonald's. He is truly talented. I had to take my daughter for her orthodontic check up, for the life of me I can't figure out how one of her brackets broke on her braces, but they're all fixed now and she's got the color changed to purple, real pretty; talk about braces coming a long way! Remember when all they had was the silver train tracks and it looked like you were chewing on a bunch of silver, well isn't advanced technology wonderful!

Today, I'm going to post some sweepstakes and giveaways that's going on from some of the blogs I visit often, so feel free to enter and hopefully win!

I hope everyone has a great day! Until next post, Be Blessed and Be Safe!!

It's A Great Day

Hello to my FABULOUS readers! It's a great day. Although it's cold outside, I'll take my Carolina weather over Chicago and Milwaukee's weather any day!  I just hate the fact that I have to use my old computer.  This thing is horribly slow. I tried going through the programs and see what I could possibly remove to make it run a little bit faster, but some programs I'm not familiar with and don't want to take the chance on deleting it and then something else isn't working.  It's especially aggravating because I'm not able to really visit my fellow blogger websites the way I want to because if I have too many windows open at once, it gets TURTLE slow! Some things I have to do from my phone, but it doesn't have a 15" screen so I'll just have to make due.

Anyway, it's been a busy day with my little munchkin having the desire to clear off the sofa by throwing everything on the floor, stand on top of my printer, try to type while I'm typing, pressing buttons on the remote and to top it off, this slow computer. But I'm grateful for another day in the New Year. I can say I held her attention by playing some music on YouTube.

I've been debating on going back to school-again. I've been in the Administrative Support field for several years now and I did find a school that has a degree program that's geared toward that field. The school is really cheap, so I'm thinking about looking into it and going for my Associates. I would like to do an online class, but not with this computer-no way!

2012-Day Two!

Good Morning, I hope that everyone is having a great morning. It's day two of the new year and I'm up and about. I noticed that a few places may be closed today, due to the holiday falling on a weekend, but thank God SCHOOL STARTED BACK TODAY!!!! SOOOO HAPPY! I'm back on my grind, doing my job hunting. Got big plans for the new year, so I'm definitely on it.

I hope that you have been checking out some of the blogs that I have suggested. I'm still entering giveaways and sweepstakes, I haven't won anything yet, but I'm keeping the faith. Can't wait to do my next round of grocery shopping because I've activated a few 'ecoupons' from savingstar.com, so as soon as I reach 5.00 in my account, I can choose a payout. It's a good way to shop and get money from it.

I had a great day on yesterday. Church service was really nice and then in the afternoon, I participated in my first concert. I really had a great time singing with some great voices and the food was good too. I must say, I'm so glad the holidays are over and now to the next big event, my baby girl's birthday. I can't believe a year has passed already. The time has gone by so quick. I was gathering all of her clothes that are too small for her now, but I just had to keep the little hospital hat and tshirt. I'm getting all the hugs and kisses now because soon she'll be in her teen years. I can't believe my oldest is going to be 15 this year. Time just goes by so fast and we truly need to cherish every moment with our babies because they don't stay babies for long.

That's my general blog post for the morning. I thank everyone who stops by. Please feel free to leave comments. I have over 500 views to my blog and it would be great to know who some of you are. Until next post Be Blessed and Be Safe!
